I noticed it first at a Kwanzaa party late last year. Having trouble keeping myself amused, I started quizzing those holding drinks and discovered that everyone there was kind of “into” news and recent events.

For a second, I brightened. As a media junkie hanging out in a room of strangers, I realized it would be my lucky night if they all turned out to be informed and alive.

It wasn’t to be.

Everyone was joking about who’d called whom, in the middle of what night, to break the news of whichever bit of current events. It was as if, I realized, it was a big contest for this crowd, a competition to be the first to tell people about each big happening in our hypey news times.

“Remember, I was nervous to call you at three in the morning about Saddam because you love your sleep so much,” reminisced one woman. She was followed by some giddy man confessing how after a recent airline crash he didn’t hesitate from calling a friend, regardless of the hour, because he wanted to get to that friend “before anyone else. Yeah, that was big!”

Welcome to news observation as a sport. It’s based on the recent discovery of how often and how fast we can celebrate (typically bad) news with each other, and we all want to win as often as possible.

This is a result, I am guessing, from 9/11. On that day, for the first time in a while, news became way too important to do without. It was suddenly an era when it made you feel better to pass on a Tom Friedman column or something profound or uncanny that the late Tim Russert or on time Jon Stewart had proffered in the heat of the day. Those were sad and perplexing days, and sharing was de rigueur.

I wonder if this is partially because we of the complacent generations have longed for our own Kennedy moment, a story with which to regale future citizens — and each other. Finally, on that crisp fall morning, we got our own “Where were you when?” game to match the one our parents play with sadness, nostalgia, and some element of glee.

But now it’s more than seven years later so why are we still calling each other oh-my-God-guess what in the middle of the night? Is it because we need to share life-affirming information with one another in the insecurity of Late Bush America? Has our Government’s never-ending habit of attacking nations made us this way? Is it due to our own small effort to increase vigilance when the threat index changes hue?

Or we’re bored.

It makes sense to go whole-hog over hugely significant news, attacks and the like. But why these phone call celebrations for items that are not going to change the world? Why call about Scott Peterson’s court appearance? About Michael Jackson’s new arrest (and gosh, why call about OJ now?)? About the latest missing-kid trial? Is it perhaps that this is all we have to talk about, some communal “thing” that occurred a few seconds ago? Suddenly we’ve all become Dateline producers, organizing life around the “get” of the day.

In an eerily familiar way, this is the return of the late-nineties stock ticker. Constantly clicking on stock news was (when we had stock, wow) quite the thing to do in those boom years, and then we all got into trouble with that. But in those days, one did not share the ticker news, as we do now, we merely yelped and ran from the room. It was fun — and unlike the constant news clicking, it wasn’t a drain on your time for no real gain. Back in market heyday you could jump on your slow Web, get your price, know if your portfolio was up or down, go back to work or whatever. Now we spend time surfing sites, clicking lazily onto channels, calling friends. I don’t understand jumping up and down for a tragedy like we did for the Netscape stock split. This new habit seems like a very different kind of nervous-making, one we might reconsider being so giddy about.

A group of foreigners dies in a crash off a coast no one is sure where. That has to be shared hastily…? I vote for a moment of silence. Just a wee bit of pensiveness.

And how often do we really know what we’re talking about before we make that call? So much of what we learn from the online news sites is really only the very latest news bites. How do you know when to jump from the link or stop watching Hannity before you email or call around? And if you’re trying to get to your friends first, are you even sure you’re right about it? Now we’re all becoming news editors, each our own Jason Robards from All the President’s Men. Are we sure about this? Are there multiple sources confirming? Then go to press.

Let’s imagine we merely “took” the news like our grandparents did. Mine had a habit of sitting down with it and a cup of tea at 10 p.m.; when they knew where their children were they got their information and went to bed satisfied. No sharing with others. In the morning they read a newspaper and learned what they might learn more about in detail. Sure there was water-cooler talk during breaks, but it was talk about family and friends — and the important controversy of the day. People didn’t, however, feel the need to share a deadly crash/Stalin sighting/cure for polio the second after it jumped onto the screen.

Maybe our lives were more interesting in Grandma’s day. Or there was more to gain from keeping it inside. Better yet, maybe there more faith in the evolutionary nature of the news. Here is the formula: A story breaks (”‘Mad Cow’ Cow Found”), there are denials of it mattering (”‘Mad Cow’ Cow Is Canadian”), people react really strangely (”Secretary of Agriculture Says ‘Mad Cow’ Won’t Stop Her from Being Carnivorous”), and then we discover it’s only one beast (”Lone Cow Theory Holds Up”). Eventually, the story plays out calmly (”No More ‘Mad Cows,’ Only Vengeful Ones”) and we return to sharing liquids and baby pics with our colleagues and ultimately bored enemies.

The truth, it turns out, is less exciting than we thought, but that didn’t stop us from a half-dozen over-excited phone calls along the way.

Back to that Kwanzaa festival. Everyone seemed psyched that they knew something first and had gotten to each other before other acquaintances hopped on the facts. I kept wondering what the big deal was, why they were so thrilled to be smacking people with bad news. Then it occurred to me that in times like these, where we can no longer talk about our acquisitions because it seems kind of dull to do so, when so many are hardly employed in the manner in which we’d like to be accustomed, it’s hard to find and/or share things that we’re overjoyed about.

I realized then that the news brings us joy. It doesn’t matter if it’s bad, good, or just strange. (You can bet there were calls about the woman who found a condom in her soup and got a settlement from those fast-food schmucks.) All that matters is that it’s shareable. Bottom line is that when something unique happens on the horizon, people go berserk. It’s quite simple: news-knowledge makes us look good!

After finding a target market, the second internet affiliate marketing tip is to carefully select the products to promote. The products you decide to promote need to respond to the needs of your target market.

There are countless affiliate programs online. Use your favourite search engine to find them. For example, if you want to promote a personal development product, type into your favourite search engine, “personal development affiliate program”.

Affiliate Internet Marketing Tip Number Three: Select a Good Domain Name, Web Host and Autoresponder

Build your website around the affiliate products you promote. Your domain name needs to be related to your market niche or your personal name if you want to brand on that. Are you new to affiliate marketing? Do you know where to start to get your new business advertised? If not, than you are not alone. Everyone online who is making money with affiliate programs, was new at one time too. They had to learn how to market their business just like you do. You can do it if you are willing to learn, and copy what the successful affiliates are doing. So I am going to give you some affiliate internet marketing tips to help you get started.

Tip 1: Educate yourself in internet marketing. I don’t just mean read. I mean read and take action. This is very important.

Tip 2: Advertise as much as you can. Getting your website out their is the key to making money. If people are not seeing your business, they will not sign up. You can’t just place one ad, and expect your business to be a success. They will not just start showing up unless they know where to find you.

Now you are probably asking yourself, okay, how do I advertise? I will tell you in the remaining affiliate internet marketing tips. Before I get started, you need to realize that there are a lot of ways to advertise your business. You can do a search to find out what all the different ways are. Just remember that you will want to use more than one advertising method. The more ways you use, the better off your business will be. Also this will give you a chance to find out which marketing methods will work for you, and which ones will not.

Tip 3: Start with writing articles. This is one of the best ways to advertise, plus it is free. If you don’t know how, there are ebooks, and courses that will teach you. You can also hire a ghost writer to write an article for you. Than distribute the articles to directories.

Tip 4: Join forums about internet marketing, affiliate programs, or affiliate marketing. They will not only help you learn different ways to advertise, but you can use them to advertise your business. You can put what is called a signature in each of your posts that will have your business link. Than when you post to a forum it will be displayed. Be sure you don’t just post to advertise. Be helpful and answer someones question, or ask a question.

Tip 5: Place classified ads. This is a good way to get links pointing back to your website. Search engines like this. It will get you higher rankings with search engines. Affiliate programs that you join will provide you with ads you can use, or you can write your own.

Tip 6: Start a Google Adwords campaign. This is where you bid on keywords that match what you are selling. I don’t suggest this one unless you learn how to do it. A great course that will teach you what you need to know is, Perry Marshall’s Definitive Guide to Google AdWords. Don’t do this one unless you have money to advertise with.

Tip 7: Buy a solo ad from a newsletter or ezine that has a list of customers. These customers already trust the person running the newsletter. So all you have to do is do a search on any search engine to find out where you can buy a solo ad from. The affiliate program you joined should have a solo ad you can use. If not write your own.

Tip 8: Join a traffic exchange. These are free to use. You place an ad with them. Than you surf for credits, or buy them on some. When you have enough credits, they will show your ad in exchange for those credits.

There are all kinds of affiliate internet marketing tips that I could give you. However, these will get you started. The important thing is to learn, and take action with what you have learned. If you don’t, you will not make any money. The internet is competitive if you are trying to get a business started. Educating yourself, and doing what has to be done, will take you a long way. You will not make it overnight. You may even get frustrated or disappointed, and want to quit. If you do, that is understandable. Everyone does at some time or another. However, you are the only one who knows how bad you want to be successful. So try telling yourself that quitting is not an option, and do what it takes. You can and will be a success if you want it badly enough.

Why is it difficult to communicate ‘bad news’?

And when I say ‘bad news’ I mean in the context of ‘things not going to plan’.

We have all been in the position at work where the project is not going to meet the deadline date or be within budget.

Or maybe you have just accidentally deleted one of your bosses’ important documents.

Or at home, you just videoed over your wedding tape with the latest episode of ‘Friends’. Anyone accidentally done that? Anyone purposely done that?

I have been in the position of having to communicate bad news numerous times and I bet you have. We all try to cover it up or resolve it on our own, just so we do not have to tell anyone and no one will ever know.

I remember once working for a company where the ‘rule’ was all annual Performance Reviews had to be conducted and written up by 31 December. Due to other commitments, I could not meet the deadline, however I informed my boss and the HR department I would.

I thought I could catch up once back from the New Year holidays. What is so important about completing them by 31 December anyway?

Little did I know that the Performance Review directly affected individuals pay increases and because I had not completed some, several individuals did not get a pay rise in their January payslip.

That caused a lot of emotion, as you would expect. I was found out and had to explain myself.

Why didn’t I just say, “I’m not going to be able to make 31 December deadline on the Performance Reviews. Is that a problem?” instead of keeping it quiet and thinking I could catch up.

Now some of you are saying, this isn’t ‘bad news’, I know. It was for those who didn’t get a pay rise. But I can understand, if you have your own stories – maybe a multi-million dollar project was going to be one month late and you just can’t inform your boss. That would be bad news.

But this Performance Review example sticks in my mind because it was so stupid of me and I had let down many staff members.

Now when I interviewed Scot Herrick (Creator and Owner of www.cuberules.com) for The Great Successful People Package, it was as if we had known each other for a long time. We had great interaction and Scot shared his experience on such subjects as Change, Staff Management, Relationships, Getting On With Your Boss, Being a New Manager, Managing Bad News, Blogging, Being Indispensable….and more.

Scot shared all his successful and proven ideas and the conversation we had regarding communicating ‘bad news’ really jumped out for me.

Scot sees this as a strength. The fact that you can ask for help and advice when you are ‘up against it’, is a very powerful and respected skill.

He added that you should not only ask for help and advice but also provide your own proposal to overcome the ‘bad news’.

So for instance, the important project you are running is going to be 2 weeks late. Bad times!

However, the project will be implemented to plan, if you have two extra resources or another $10k or could implement a manual workaround. Good times!

As soon as you know there is ‘bad news’, invite and gather the appropriate individuals to a debate and agree a way forward.

So the next time you run into a ‘bad news’ situation don’t hide it and think it will go away. Shout about it and think ‘We can do this if…’

Oops! There it was again. A well-written ad with an eye-catching headline, nice photo, a decent bullet list of benefits…and a big, fat hole where the compelling offer should have been.

Instead of telling the reader exactly what action to take, the business blandly listed only a phone number and website address.

What a waste!

But, print ads aren’t the only areas where I see business owners backing away from doing the obvious—that is, giving the reader or listener a compelling reason to respond now, not tomorrow. Another place where my “marketing coach eyes” catch business owners omitting a compelling offer is in their internet marketing.

Women entrepreneurs, in particular, are guilty of this mistake. Why? Because women mistakenly think they’re being “nice” by not telling someone what to do.

Come on, ladies! We know we’re capable of being in charge, giving directions, and even acting downright bossy. We do it all the time running our households. So, let’s not pretend we don’t know how to step up powerfully in the same way when it comes to telling our prospective clients to get themselves in gear and hire us!

Here are four simple tips for creating your compelling offer:

Internet Marketing Tip #1: Make the offer appealing.

Most offers are bland. A strong offer includes a compelling reason for your listener or reader to act now. For example, in an email promoting your program or product, swap out the plain vanilla “Click here to learn more” for “Why wait when you can get started right away? Get your free report instantly when you click here now!”

Internet Marketing Tip #2: Inject enthusiasm.

Don’t let your fear of sounding cheesy get in the way of creating excitement. The trick for women entrepreneurs is to stay ultra-focused on benefits: What happens for your reader when they DO take action? Conversely, what pitfall awaits them if they hesitate?

Internet Marketing Tip #3: Create urgency.

Don’t groan at the thought that this is a coy trick. It’s not. Urgency works because people are crazy-busy, and it’s only the fact that they’re about to lose out on an opportunity that gets their attention. People also put off making decisions. By giving them a cut-off date you’re helping them discover clearly what they want (which this marketing coach believes is a valuable service).

Internet Marketing Tip #4: Give yourself permission to nag.

People love a sense of drama! My favorite strategy is the “countdown to cut-off” tactic. You’re using your cut-off date as the dramatic ending. Work backwards from your cut-off date (or cut-off quantity) and use a daily sequence of emails, reminder calls and good old- fashioned nagging to let folks know there are only five days left, four days left, 48 hours, 24 hours, “last chance” and “expires at midnight” opportunities to make a move.

Is this too hard sell? Not at all IF you’re authentic in how you write your campaign, use a sense of humor or personal warmth, and stay focused on WHY your product or service is going to really help them solve their problems.

Remember, women entrepreneurs, you’re in business to help people and you can only help them when you get their attention.

The Internet has broken down language barriers, country boundaries, and learning methods. Today, learning at home is not only possible but highly advisable because the World Wide Web gives students resources that otherwise are not available as fast as the time it takes when a student turns on his or her personal computer.

The era of education online means that your ability to obtain higher education is just a mouse click away. Online education is one of the best options for those who want to get a degree and work at the same time. Within the past ten years, online education and internet training has provided many people with a new incentive to learn.

Online education includes a full spectrum of possibilities starting with early childhood education and including college preparation, or complete learning programs for obtaining a college degree. Online courses open a world of possibilities to people who for any given reason were unable to attend regular school programs, or those whose actual activities and limited time, made it hard to stick to a full-time learning schedule.

Online education is spreading across the globe like a wildfire fueled by textbooks and periodic tables. Millions who previously thought that a college degree was firmly out of their reach have discovered that all it takes to attend college in today’s world are the combination of a few free hours each day and access to the Internet.

Online Education Equals Big Business

Originally conceived as a way for adults to earn a college degree later in life than usual, online education or “distance learning” has spread to the point that people of all ages are now involved. Children as young as the fourth grade level now have access to online education in many areas, using it as a supplement to or in place of traditional classes.

With Online Education Everybody Wins

Part of the appeal to online education is that it is literally good for everyone. Educators can enter a new job market in writing and implementing an online curriculum and can use this income to supplement the earnings that receive from classroom education. Students of all ages have an alternative to traditional classes in which they can learn without the interference of other students’ behavioral interruptions. Adults who may have missed out on their high school diplomas or college degrees now have the opportunity, through online education, to complete or further their studies without the scheduling problems that may have made this impossible in the past. Finally, online education offers businesses the chance to educate their workforce at a lower cost and the benefit of a generation of computer literate and more highly educated prospective employees entering the job market.

However, online education is not limited to school subjects. Demand for adult education and online courses are some of the most widely available educational resources on the Internet, intended for developing specific skills. Cooking and baking courses, mechanical reparations, interior decoration, are just a few of those quick courses available online.

Another motivation encouraging online education includes foreign languages learning, or just for broadening your culture. Online options are as many as everyone’s need; degree programs, online education courses, training certificates and more, including accredited formal education.

Online education saves time, money, and offers opportunity to those who may have never had it in the past. It may truly be the wave of the future. Helping students to succeed in both education and career aspirations, online education is fast becoming a convenient, but credible educational tool of the modern era.

End Of World Chaos…? Subtitle; The Bad News… I’m sure by now that most of you already know that the (10 commandments) only serve The rich & famous- but do absolutely (nothing) for the poor and starving…… Written Laws were put in place to help establish a (democracy) & nothing else, but that same Democracy made no room for the poor & starving who were since then born during the Establishing of those (written laws). Dept of Human services & every branch of charity Organization have been strapped for funds since (PRIOR) to our 9-1-1 attack on the World Trade Center bombing… so, what’s the answer for the poor and starving?

What should we do with them? The poorest churches have already given up & folded under because of the “poor & starving” out-numbering the churches own resources… Jesus may very well (save) but Jesus will not preserve the poor & starving…! Lets face it; Even Kings & Queens (eventually) die as will we all one day & even Jesus said; No flesh & blood has ever seen the kingdom of God- besides, if the kingdom is within you, how can you even enter it since (YOU)  yourself surround it…?! This can only mean that (the kingdom) is just a “metaphor”…much like the word; (GOD) which only breaks down to mean; “higher authority” or (many) higher powers of heavenly or “Earthly” origins…

As of this year of 2008- our population’s outweighs our supply & demand for food & Outweighs the “ability” to distribute it to that population on demand and (eventually) any scale will break if constantly abused… This does not take a rocket scientist to figure out and (eventually) Marshall law shall be implemented- but in that day, not even the rich or famous will be protected by (written) laws and when the smoke & fire finally clear; “he who has all the gold will win”…however, he may very well find himself alone & with (no one) to rule over & (no one) to share with him his shallow victory…”but” just remember; last one alive gets to clean up the mess…!

I suppose, in that day- he shall call himself; (Adam) or perhaps; (Alpha) which is just a (metaphor) meaning; “ Beginning” & since the word; Genesis only means; genitals…I would think he would prefer the name; Adam… (Wouldn’t you?) So, what should we do up till that time? “Anything you like.”… Because it won’t matter. The great conflict will always eventually visit every generation- just as it has visited the late 3-4 billion generations prior to us. War has always been the natural order of all life- for where there is (life), there shall always be conflict & where there is a “voice”- there shall always be wars & rumors thereof…

Will it ever end? (no) because life & death including all of creation have always revolved in circles. We are all living (re-runs) of our ancient ancestors which all date back prior to Adam & Eve. Adam & Eve were not the first man & woman. Go back & re-read the chapt# 1 vs 26 of Genesis- then re-read; vs 7 of chapt# 2 very slowly and ask yourself; what became of the first created “men & women” that were created before Adam & Eve..?

Where did Cain’s wife come from if Eve was the first woman? See; vs# 17 chapt #4 of Genesis because Eve only had 2 sons in her Beginning and the eldest killed the youngest…(?) “The Apostles taught that; (THE JUST) shall live by their faith & if this is “true” then the JUST are only “justified” according to what they (believe) is right- yet Jesus Never taught this concept unless you count what Jesus stated; As a man (thinketh) In his heart- Then so is he…! In other words- if you feel justified in mindless murder- then according to this concept, you are then (justified) in God eye- however your Local State & Federal authorities who catch you may show their disagreement-but Don’t worry, because “The Bible” said (your are justified) even during your execution for that mindless murder….

Many folks have asked me; how will all life on earth end? My answer is based upon logistics such as; History has always repeated itself since prior to the first life-form And every time that history does repeat itself- it often is repeated in larger & wider Scales- so, since we started life in the mist of chaos- then (logistically), all life shall End in greater chaos- better known as; Void & darkness upon the face of the deep.…The biblical term; (deep) only means; “the void of outer-space”. The first big-bang that took place eons of ages ago was not the first (big-bang) & there is another one coming which will be a much (bigger)…bang!

We all began as (spirit) & we shall all return to the “beginning” as; (SPIRIT) and from there- we shall all begin to build once…“again!” Life as we know it may very well end between (any second) & the year 6969 but In the mean time; we are (all) still stuck somewhere in the “middle” because, God only Rested on the Sabbath- God did not (retire) on it…! Many folks have already asked me if I was worried? My answer is; (why worry?) since I can recall the first (two) big bangs & those were never yet written about? Dont bother to ask, because the explanation would take up too much time & space and an entire library on physics to explain…besides- when the 3ed does takes place- where shall you hide…?

You may not recall you’re past life due to the possibility of this being your first trip here- so, cheer up Because now you have an existence to recall after you exit “this one!” Will God save us thru a blood sacrifice? Let me ask you one question; would you require a (blood sacrifice) just to “Forgive” your kids of their ignorance…? If you (REALLY) love them- then a blood sacrifice in their behalf wont be needed. I don’t want to be in the same house where a God (demands) blood from any of Gods kids just to forgive them when the same God in question can extract blood from the very dust of which we stand upon…(?) So, did Jesus die for nothing?

NO! He died for what he (believed) & one day- you may be required to do the same thing… Besides The scriptures state that ALL THE HEAVENS & the earth & all its fullness belong Unto God. If this is true- then that includes everything that has (blood) so a blood sacrifice from us or any other source would be impossible since ALL BLOOD belong unto God since prior to the 1st Atom Let it be known; I will never worship a (Vampire!) and neither would Jesus! What about all the miracles that were accredited to Jesus…? The Gnostic transcripts which are older than any King James version accredited only (healing) as well as the healing of the Centurion’s servant- but the exciting point of it all was When Jesus taught; (YOU) & I can perform the same miracles (IF) we “believe!”…!

Take a note here; There is a BIG difference between (belief) and; “assumption!” where “Belief” is a (bold demanding choice) where “assumption” is based upon community (influence.) How many of you already knew that the word (salvation) only boils down to means;……….. (RECYCLE) or (renew?) …or (REBUILD>>>?) In the mid 1980s- the poor & homeless were only in 3ed world countries- but now, they are also found in our backyards & every year those numbers double & by 2020 the numbers will be so high that the U.S. economy will collapse & force our population into a police state which will mean; (world-wide) Marshall law.

I don’t know about you- but I really don’t want to be here when all of that takes place- because in that day; “written laws” will protect no one, including the Richest on down to the most famous. Just look @ us today; All Of Us are potential targets of random violence just for the sake of board & Zionistic terrorist…

Affiliate marketing can be one of the very best ways to generate an income by working from home in your spare time. Of course, the more you put into your affiliate marketing efforts, the more you’ll get out of it - but even if you only have a little time to invest, you can still make some money in this business. If you want to really make it big in the world of affiliate marketing, you’ll need to put some hard work into it. In this article, I’ll give you a brief explanation of what affiliate marketing is and give you several tips on succeeding in affiliate marketing - including one very valuable piece of information; namely, the best affiliate internet marketing tip I ever got from anyone.

So what is affiliate marketing? Basically, it is a business venture where you, the affiliate, marketing a product or service for someone else, the merchant, by directing traffic to their website. Each time a visitor you have directed to their website makes a purchase, you will be paid a commission. The first thing you’re going to need is your own website - this can be done for free; although free websites look less professional, it’s better to go for a site of your very own.

You’ll need to choose an affiliate program next, preferably one that fits into an interest or area of knowledge you are already familiar with. It’s always easier to sell a product that you personally use and enjoy. You’re going to need to have content on your site that will draw traffic from people in your target market. Make sure you write informative, useful content which will catch the attention of readers and make them want to visit your site. If you are not confident in your writing skills, you can hire a copywriter to do this work for you. This content will help to establish you as a trusted expert in your niche; and everyone is more likely to buy a product or service which carries the endorsement of an expert.

You can write this content in the form of articles, which can be placed on your own website as well as submitted to the many free article directories online. These articles can contain a brief bio and a link to your site; when they are picked up for publication by other websites, e-zines and the like (and if your articles are well written, they will be), your link will be out there giving your site exposure and boosting your search engine ranking. Be sure to look into keywords which will be likely to be used by people in your target market when searching for your type of product or service and incorporate these keywords into your website content and articles. This will be a great help in making your site easier for prospective customers to find using search engines.

Now for the most important tip - the best affiliate internet marketing tip I ever got: This is simple but true; treat your affiliate marketing venture like a real business, it will reward you like one. If you want to make it big, you will have to put in some hard work to grow your affiliate marketing business. Don’t expect to get rich in a week if you’re only willing to spend a few hours working on it! Work hard and be consistent, and you’ll get to enjoy the rewards of your labour.
